Musk – Trump Named in Epstein Files Amid Fallout

Elon Musk and Donald Trump’s once-close relationship has publicly unraveled, with both figures now engaging in an increasingly bitter war of words.
The fallout intensified on Thursday, June 5, when Musk took to X (formerly Twitter) to make explosive claims about Trump’s alleged links to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Musk suggested that the U.S. government has withheld full disclosure of the Epstein files because they allegedly implicate Trump.
“@realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public,” Musk wrote, before sarcastically signing off with, “Have a nice day, DJT!”
Musk’s post referred to unreleased Justice Department documents related to Epstein’s crimes, which have long been the subject of speculation due to Epstein’s alleged connections with powerful figures across politics, finance, and entertainment.

Once a trusted advisor to Trump, Musk had headed the controversial Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) — a now-defunct agency created to streamline federal bureaucracy, which led to thousands of job cuts.
Musk departed the post last week under murky circumstances.
Since then, Musk has openly criticized Trump’s flagship tax and spending legislation, calling the proposed “One Big Beautiful Bill” a “disgusting abomination” and accusing the former president of catering to entrenched interests.
In response, Trump fired back on his Truth Social platform Thursday evening, claiming he personally asked Musk to step down.
Trump described Musk as having become “unhinged” and claimed his behavior was “wearing thin.”
“Elon was going CRAZY,” Trump wrote. “I told him it was time to go.”
The public breakdown marks a dramatic turn in a relationship that once saw Musk not only supporting Trump’s re-election campaign with significant donations but also occupying a high-profile advisory role within the administration.
