Nigerian tech enthusiast Sapphire Egemasi, widely known as the ‘Tech Queen,’ flaunted a glamorous lifestyle on social media before her arrest by the FBI in the Bronx, New York, on April 10, 2025.

An active programmer with a notable presence on Devpost, Egemasi was detained along with several alleged co-conspirators, including Ghanaian national Samuel Kwadwo Osei, who is believed to be the mastermind behind the group.

The arrests stem from a federal grand jury indictment filed in 2024, accusing the syndicate of orchestrating extensive internet fraud and money laundering schemes between September 2021 and February 2023.

Prosecutors allege that the group defrauded the city of Kentucky out of millions by creating fake websites that closely resembled official U.S. government portals.

These sites were used to steal login credentials and funnel funds into accounts controlled by the syndicate.
Egemasi’s social media accounts reveal a vivid picture of her extravagant life, showcasing frequent travels to luxury destinations across Europe and beyond.

Her 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) posts highlight visits to top-tier locations such as Portugal, Italy, the United Arab Emirates, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Croatia, Montenegro, Greece, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Belgium, and Luxembourg.
Her online presence featured photos from stays at luxury hotels, fine dining experiences, and visits to iconic landmarks, painting a picture of wealth and opulence that sharply contrasts with the criminal allegations she now faces.
