US Woman Divorces Husband 52 Days After Wedding
Brittany Renner has confirmed that her marriage to rapper Kevin Gates has ended—just 52 days after they tied the knot.
In a candid interview with DJ Bootleg Kev on Los Angeles’ REAL 92.3 radio station, the Basketball Wives star revealed that the couple were married on April 6 but separated on May 28. Despite the short-lived union, Renner said she holds no regrets.
Currently observing a 90-day reconciliation period as prescribed by Islamic law, Renner—who is a practicing Muslim—explained that this time is intended for reflection and potential reconciliation.
“I followed my heart, and that’s more than what most people can say in this world,” said the 33-year-old. “I have no shame in that.”
She stressed that although the split was unplanned, she doesn’t view it as a failure. “I don’t feel like it’s a sucky situation because what is meant to be is always going to be,” she said. “I gave 100 percent [in the marriage]. All is well.”
So far, Kevin Gates has remained silent on the matter and has not issued any public statement regarding the breakup.
