Khaby Lame Leaves U.S. After ICE Detention Amid Immigration Crackdown

TikTok megastar Khaby Lame has voluntarily left the United States after being detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) over immigration violations.
According to a statement from ICE shared with Mail Online, the 25-year-old content creator — full name Seringe Khabane Lame — was detained on June 6 at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas.
Lame, who was born in Senegal and is an Italian citizen, had entered the U.S. on April 30 but allegedly overstayed the terms of his visa.
“Seringe Khabane Lame, 25, a citizen of Italy, was detained June 6 in Las Vegas for immigration violations,” an ICE spokesperson said.
“He was granted voluntary departure the same day and has since exited the United States.”
Lame’s case comes amid a sweeping immigration crackdown under President Donald Trump, who returned to office in January.
ICE has ramped up enforcement efforts since then, carrying out raids and overseeing a significant spike in arrests and deportations of undocumented individuals.
Khaby Lame, who boasts over 162 million TikTok followers under the handle @khaby.lame, is best known for his viral silent reaction videos that humorously highlight everyday absurdities.
He moved from Senegal to Italy as a child and officially became an Italian citizen in 2022.
His team has not publicly commented on the incident or his departure.
