Umahi: Tinubu Has Ended Southeast’s Infrastructural Neglect

Minister of Works, David Umahi, has praised President Bola Tinubu for what he described as a transformative and inclusive leadership that has positively impacted the Southeast region and the nation as a whole.
Speaking in Abakaliki during the 2025 Sallah celebrations with the Ebonyi Muslim community, Umahi commended Tinubu for reversing decades of federal neglect in the Southeast, citing the growing presence of infrastructure and development projects across the region.
“Previously, many Southeast states had little or no federal projects,” Umahi noted. “Today, that has changed.
The presence of federal infrastructure is now evident, and this is what true national integration looks like.”
He also highlighted the President’s commitment to religious tolerance and unity, calling the current state of interfaith relations “unprecedented.”
Umahi pointed to Tinubu’s attendance at the Pope’s inauguration as a landmark moment reflecting the President’s respect for all religions.
“It was a remarkable surprise to many Christians that President Tinubu led a Nigerian delegation to the Pope’s inauguration,” Umahi said.
“This gesture shows he is a President for all. We may worship differently, but we all serve one God. Both Christianity and Islam promote love and the fear of God.”
Umahi emphasized that the Tinubu administration is not only building roads and bridges but also fostering unity in diversity, helping to bridge long-standing divides across the country.
