Bandits Abduct Kaduna Village Head’s Wife, Son

Bandits have kidnapped the wife and teenage son of the village head of Doka Avong in Kufana District, Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The attack took place around 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2025, when a group of heavily armed men invaded the home of the village head.
The assailants abducted 38-year-old Deborah Jonah and her 14-year-old son, Maxwell Jonah.
The incident was officially confirmed in a report addressed to the Agom of Kufana Chiefdom and signed by the District Overseer, Mr. Stephen Maikori.
In the letter, Maikori described the abduction as a deeply troubling event that has spread fear and unrest throughout the community.
“This unfortunate event has caused widespread fear and anxiety within the community,” Maikori stated.
“I respectfully call for the urgent intervention of relevant security agencies to enhance surveillance and fortify security in and around Doka Avong and the entire Kufana District.”
He stressed the need for immediate and decisive action to prevent further violence and to rebuild public confidence in local safety.
Kajuru LGA has been a hotspot for banditry and violent attacks in recent years, and this latest abduction has further intensified concerns about the deteriorating security situation.
Community leaders are now calling for the rapid deployment of security forces to prevent further assaults and ensure the safe return of the abducted individuals.
