Woman, 33, Jailed for Assaulting 11-Year-Old During Fake Virginity Test

Woman Sentenced to 15 Years for Sexual Assault Under Guise of “Virginity Test”
A 33-year-old woman from Mazowe, Zimbabwe, has been handed a 15-year prison sentence for the sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl.
The perpetrator, who was known to the victim’s family, falsely claimed she was conducting a “virginity test” when she committed the horrific act.
The Bindura Regional Magistrates’ Court delivered the verdict, which has deeply shaken the local community.
Betrayal of Trust and Horrific Details
According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), the assault occurred on April 26, 2025.
The accused reportedly lured the young girl into a private area, telling her that her own mother had sent her to perform this invasive examination.
The NPAZ detailed the disturbing method of assault: the woman inserted her fingers into her own genitals before violating the child.
The attack was brought to an abrupt halt when the victim’s mother unexpectedly walked in on the scene. Upon confrontation, the assailant continued to insist she was merely performing a “virginity test.”
The mother promptly alerted authorities, leading to the woman’s swift arrest.
A Stark Warning About Female-Perpetrated Sexual Violence
Prosecutors highlighted the profound betrayal felt by the traumatized family, noting that the accused was a close family friend.
The NPAZ strongly condemned the crime, emphasizing that it brings to light the often-overlooked issue of female-perpetrated sexual violence.
In a statement, the agency declared, “This case exposes how trust is weaponized to exploit children,” and urged communities to exercise heightened vigilance to protect their young ones.
This case serves as a chilling reminder of the varied forms child abuse can take and the importance of awareness and swift action.
