Mbappé Discharged from Hospital After Gastroenteritis, Set for Gradual Return to Real Madrid Duties

Real Madrid star and French national team captain Kylian Mbappé has been discharged from the hospital following treatment for an acute bout of gastroenteritis.
The 26-year-old forward had missed training earlier in the week due to fever and was absent from Wednesday’s 1-1 FIFA Club World Cup draw against Al-Hilal in Miami.
On Thursday, Real Madrid confirmed he had been hospitalized for the gastrointestinal illness, which is known to cause symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhoea, and abdominal discomfort.
Later the same day, the club announced that Mbappé had been released and had returned to Real Madrid’s training base in Palm Beach, Florida.
He is now under medical supervision and will follow a tailored recovery plan before rejoining full team activities.
A statement from the club read:
“Mbappé will continue with specific medical treatment and will gradually return to team activity.”
Real Madrid’s next match is scheduled for Sunday, June 22, against Pachuca at 20:00 BST.
While it remains uncertain whether Mbappé will be fit in time to feature, there is optimism he could be ready for the final group stage clash against Salzburg on June 26, should his recovery progress smoothly.
Mbappé’s condition is being closely monitored by the club’s medical staff, with his return to the pitch dependent on his overall strength and fitness in the coming days.
