Prince William Marks Birthday with Puppy Photo

To mark Prince William’s 43rd birthday, Kensington Palace released a charming new photo capturing a more playful side of the future king—this time, surrounded not by royals but by a litter of energetic puppies.
Taken earlier this month in Windsor by the Princess of Wales, the photograph shows the Prince of Wales seated casually on the grass in jeans and trainers, enjoying a lively moment with the family’s Cocker Spaniel, Orla, and three of her four recently born puppies.
The pups are seen joyfully climbing over William, embodying the affectionate nature typical of the breed.

The sweet birthday message accompanying the post was signed “with love” by Catherine and their children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—as well as “the puppies,” complete with a paw print emoji, adding a playful and personal touch to the tribute.
The Royal Family’s official account also wished the Prince a happy birthday, sharing a second image of him sitting on a stone wall during a visit to farmers and food producers on the Duchy of Cornwall estate in May—a major property portfolio now under William’s care.
Orla, the family dog, was a gift from Catherine’s brother, James Middleton, in 2020 following the death of their previous dog, Lupo.
She gave birth to her puppies in May, and this marks the first time the public is seeing the newest additions to the royal household.
The relaxed image comes on the heels of several high-profile royal engagements, including Trooping the Colour and the Order of the Garter ceremony.
Prince William has also been continuing his environmental advocacy through his Earthshot Prize, recently visiting a project that produces sustainable dyes to help reduce the fashion industry’s reliance on harmful chemicals.
Meanwhile, the Princess of Wales, who is currently recovering after revealing a cancer diagnosis earlier this year, has made limited public appearances.
Though she was absent from Royal Ascot this week, she remains active behind the scenes, recently releasing a message in support of Children’s Hospice Week, highlighting the importance of providing comfort to families facing unimaginable challenges.
Elsewhere in the royal family, King Charles offered a heartfelt message to scientists in Antarctica, recognizing their vital work on climate research during the BBC’s Midwinter Broadcast—sent on what is the coldest and darkest day of the year there, in stark contrast to his son’s sunlit birthday.
The photo and messages reflect a blend of royal tradition and personal warmth, capturing a light-hearted, family-oriented side of the heir to the throne.
