Buhari reportedly falls ill in London, admitted to ICU

Former President Muhammadu Buhari was recently admitted to an intensive care unit (ICU) in London during a medical check-up trip, according to The Cable.

A close relative of the former president confirmed that Buhari fell ill while in the UK but has since been discharged and is currently recuperating.

The nature of the ailment was not disclosed, though he is expected to return to Nigeria once fully recovered.

The report also noted that Mamman Daura, Buhari’s uncle and longtime confidant, is similarly recovering in the UK.

Buhari’s absence at the 50th anniversary celebration of ECOWAS in Lagos on May 28 drew attention.

In a letter addressed to President Bola Tinubu, he attributed his absence to medical commitments in the UK.

Earlier in May, a photo of Buhari with former EFCC chairman Abdulrasheed Bawa surfaced online following a private visit in London. The reason for the visit remains unknown.
