Chiamaka Nnadozie (born December 8, 2000) is a Nigerian football goalkeeper who represents Brighton & Hove Albion in the Women’s Super League and the Nigeria women’s national team. She is regarded as the best female custodian in Africa, as well as one of the best worldwide. She was placed fourth in the 2025 Yashin Trophy.

Chiamaka Cynthia Nnadozie OON is a celebrity who was born on December 8, 2000, in the heart of Orlu, Imo State, Nigeria. Her loving parents, Mr and Mrs Nnadozie, raised her alongside her cherished siblings, their identities veiled in secrecy, forging a tight bond.

Chiamaka Nnadozie’s enthusiasm for football brought her to Comprehensive Secondary School, Amakohia, Owerri. However, the appeal of the beautiful game drew her away from traditional education, and she set out on her quest to become a professional player with unflinching resolve.

Career

Nnadozie joined the Rivers Angels, a top-tier Nigerian professional football team based in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, at the start of the 2016 season. Nnadozie was key in Rivers Angels’ 2019-2020 NWPL league triumph.

On January 22, 2020, she signed an 18-month contract with French club Paris FC. Chiamaka Nnadozie joined Paris FC from River Angels FC and quickly established himself as a valuable member of the team. She was named the Arkema Premier League’s top custodian in 2023-24 Division 1 Féminine and left Paris FC following a fantastic triumph in the Coupe de France, in which she played an important role. From 2022 to 2025, she made 16 European appearances for Paris FC.

On June 27, 2025, it was revealed that Nnadozie will join The Seagulls on July 1, 2025, after her contract with Paris FC expires, subject to the customary regulatory processes.

International career

Nnadozie competed in all four matches of the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. For her outstanding effort against Haiti, she was named the “Dare to Shine” Player of the Match. Not long after the U-20 Tournament, she was chosen for the 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations, where she sat out all five games, and then she played goal for the Super Falcons in the 2019 Women’s WAFU Cup.

Nnadozie, 19, was nominated to the senior national squad (also known as the Super Falcons) to compete in the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France. Nnadozie became the youngest custodian to maintain a clean sheet at the World Cup after starting for Nigeria in a 2-0 win over Korea.

Following the World Cup, Nnadozie helped the Falconets win the gold medal in the African Games in Morocco, saving three penalties in a shootout against Cameroon.

On June 16, 2023, she was named to Nigeria’s 23-player FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 team. Nnadozie captained the Super Falcons in their first Women’s World Cup game against Olympic champions Canada. She made three saves, including denying Christine Sinclair’s 50th-minute penalty. Her performances in the game resulted in a goalless draw for the Super Falcons, earning her Player of the Match honour, and attracted international notice.

Nnadozie has been named to Nigeria’s squad for the 2024 Summer Olympics. Nnadozie was nominated to Nigeria’s final team for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), which will be held from July 5 to 27, 2025.

They are in Group B and will play Tunisia, Botswana, and Algeria. She was a member of the Nigerian women’s national team that won the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, and she was named the tournament’s best goalkeeper. She received the national honour, Officer of the Order of the Niger, $100,000, and a three-bedroom flat at the renewed hope estate in Abuja.
