Man interviewed under caution over Bob Vylan anti-IDF comments at Glastonbury

AdminBy AdminNovember 11, 2025Updated:November 12, 2025No Comments2 Mins Read

A man in his mid-30s has been interviewed under caution in relation to comments made on stage during a Bob Vylan performance at Glastonbury festival, police have said.

Pascal Robinson-Foster, who goes by the name Bobby Vylan and is one half of the rap-punk duo, led chants of “Death, death to the IDF”, referring to the Israel Defense Forces, during their show on the West Holts stage at the festival in June.

In response to the controversy, Robinson-Foster posted a statement on Instagram arguing that his actions would teach younger people to “speak up for the change they want”.

Avon and Somerset police said shortly after the performance that they would investigate the comments as well as remarks made later on the same stage by the Irish rap trio Kneecap. In July, the force said Kneecap would face no further action.

The force said on Tuesday that a man in his mid-30s had on Monday attended a voluntary police interview under caution. He was not formally arrested. The force did not name the individual who was interviewed.

It said: “It has been important for us to have a full understanding of any legal precedents, which is a complex process, and therefore over the past couple of months we have been seeking early legal advice from the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).

“Advice from the CPS was received during the week commencing Monday 20 October. Following a review of the advice, a voluntary police interview was arranged to help us progress our enquiries, which was held yesterday afternoon.

“The matter has been recorded as a public order incident while we continue to investigate and consider all relevant legislation. Voluntary police interviews are commonly used in investigations where an individual agrees to attend and an arrest is not considered necessary, for example on the grounds of public safety or for the preservation of evidence. Attendees are interviewed under caution and have the same legal rights as anybody who is arrested.”
