A Nigerian man has gone viral after recounting how he narrowly escaped a terrifying kidnapping during an interstate bus journey.
The story, shared in a voice note sent to him by a friend who survived the ordeal, has captured the attention of many social media users.
Friend Narrates Narrow Escape
In the recording, the survivor explained how what began as a normal bus trip from Enugu through Kogi quickly turned into a nightmare.
Armed attackers suddenly targeted the vehicle, leaving passengers in panic and fear.
Kidnappers’ Trick
The survivor detailed the kidnappers’ calculated approach. Shots were fired at the bus, possibly hitting a tyre and shattering part of the vehicle, forcing passengers into compliance.
Everyone was reportedly instructed to lie down immediately, with threats issued to anyone who hesitated, ensuring no one resisted.
Forced Into the Bush
After gaining control of the passengers, the kidnappers marched them into a nearby forested area.
The survivor narrated:
“This was how it happened. As we were going from Enugu and passed through Kogi, they shot us. As they shot us, I think it was the tyre they shot, I don’t even know because I heard a sound like the tyre got burst. You understand? As we wanted to turn, they shot our glass too. Everybody got scared. They said everybody should lie down, lie down, lie down, lie down. If you waste more time now, they’ll flog you. That’s how they carried us into the bush.”
