Victim recounts ordeal

According to his account, the abductors made it clear from the beginning that escape was impossible because they had complete control of the territory.

“It was unimaginable because when we got there, we really know that it was a dominated area,” he said. “Even they had to tell themselves that we are bandits and made us to know that there is no one that can just slip away. And with what we saw nobody could escape. They know all the routes surrounding all those bushes within Kwara and other cities.”

Terrorists brag about their knowledge of the terrain

He described the forest as an environment under strict surveillance, with the terrorists openly bragging about their command of the terrain and their ability to track any movement within the surrounding bushes. The captives were kept under constant watch, leaving them in a state of fear and helplessness throughout the period they were held.

A total of 38 worshippers were abd¥cted from the Eruku CAC on Tuesday, 18th of November, and were released on Sunday, November 23, 2025, amid the escalating k+dnap crisis across the country.
