Garth Brooks is back with a new volume in his celebrated Anthology series, and the country superstar is sitting down with the video commerce site TalkShopLive to talk all about it.
GarthBrooksBackstage & Behind-the-Scenes airs on Monday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT live onHollywoodReporter.com, powered by TalkShopLive. Brooks will spend the hour-long show answering viewer questions and sharing stories about the making of The Anthology Part VI: The Comeback, The Next Five Years, which chronicles the singer’s big comeback that was unexpectedly derailed by Covid. The Anthology — and the TalkShopLive stream — explores the stakes and stories behind the pandemic disruptions, dive-bar revivals, and Brooks’ ultimate stadium triumphs, which included a five-night homecoming in Ireland.
Rather than presenting a highlight reel, the special examines how emotionally complex the era was for Brooks, with TalkShopLive noting that “adrenaline, uncertainty, pressure and joy existed in the same space.”Similarly, the Anthology VI book offers more than 150 intimate photographs from Brooks’ personal collection, that show everything from the singer’s downtime with wife Trisha Yearwood, to a particularly poignant moment where a performance is cast into doubt and Brooks is left dealing with the aftermath. As the artist says himself, “Everything that is a blessing is a curse, and everything that is a curse is a blessing.”

TalkShopLive viewers will also get a first look at the Anthology’s exclusive live recordings, including moments from Baton Rouge’s now-famous “Garthquake,” and behind-the-scenes snapshots from Las Vegas. The special will also highlight the people who supported the journey, including crews, musicians, production leads, and longtime collaborators, with Brooks offering anecdotes from time spent on the road and in the studio with them. As TalkShopLive teases, “The special offers a richer understanding of howBrooksnavigated one of the most dramatic chapters of his career.”
