DION DUBLIN had an awkward moment during BBC’s coverage of the 2026 World Cup draw on Friday night.
Former striker Dublin made a remark about Harry Kane that instantly came back to haunt him.
The ex-Premier League forward, 56, was commentating on the draw in Washington DC alongside Jonathan Pearce.
Highlights from the 2022 World Cup were playing on the screen.
And Dublin remarked that Bayern Munich and England forward Kane “never lets us down does he”.
Unfortunately for Dublin, his comment was followed by a low point for England.

Kane missed a penalty against France in the quarter-finals as England were beaten 2-1.
That moment was shown seconds after Dublin’s comment about Kane “never letting us down.”
And fans on social media were quick to spot the ironic moment.
One said: “Dion Dublin on Harry Kane ‘He never lets us down does he’ and then they show him missing in the 2022 penalty shoot out.”
And another posted: “BBC showing France beating England in 2022.
“Dion Dublin saying ‘Kane never lets us down’ about 12 seconds before footage of Kane blazing a penalty over the bar is a lovely touch.”
The draw for the 2026 Fifa World Cup was held in Washington DC on Friday.
US President Donald Trump was presented with the first ever Fifa Peace Prize by Fifa boss Gianni Infantino.
But fans complained about how “horrific and cringe” the event was with Kevin Hart and Heidi Klum hosting.
