Inside Katy Perrys upcoming eighth album she hopes will save troubled career

AdminBy AdminDecember 5, 2025Updated:December 6, 2025No Comments6 Mins Read
IT’s not been the easiest year for Katy Perry, but don’t count her out just yet.

I’m told that her eighth record — the first since her difficult 143 album last year — is just around the corner and has, insiders say, some of her strongest work in years.

Our sources revealed the Roar singer has spent most of this year secretly writing and recording the album, while performing around the globe on her Lifetimes Tour, and hopes it will help the public fall in love with her again.

My music mole said: “Katy’s eighth album is as good as complete.

“She’s been working on it all the way through the tour and lyrically it’s some of her most vulnerable work in years.

“After 143 didn’t go as planned Katy has overhauled her thinking for this record and is going back to what she does best.

‘KATY’ FRIGHT

Orlando Bloom uses Halloween bash to take cheeky pop at ex-fiancée Katy Perry

“She’s has been back in the studio with Cirkut, who helped make Lady Gaga‘s Mayhem, as well as Greg Kurstin, who masterminded some of Lily Allen‘s biggest hits.

Heartbreak

“They’ve been in touch throughout the tour and Katy has grabbed moments in the studio as and when she could make it happen.

“It’s no secret she’s had a tough time in the spotlight recently and Katy has channelled that into her music.

“She’s written multiple songs about her split from Orlando Bloom, but it’s still up in the air as to which ones will make the cut — especially as she’s now dating former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

“The record is due out in the first half of next year and her team hope it’s Katy’s moment to shine again.”

Last month the Firework singer surprised fans by dropping Bandaids, a brutally honest track about her split from Orlando.

But given how loved up she is with Justin, we can’t help but wonder if some new tracks about falling in love will end up on the record.

No one wants to sing a heartbreak album when they’re in love . . .

PAPER MAKES MILEY SQUIRM

MILEY CYRUS has jumped on the Noughties fashion trend in this bomber jacket and gold chain belt.

The newly engaged singer was spotted leaving Jimmy Kimmel Live! in Los Angeles.

On the show, Miley admitted she was dropped from a Walmart campaign for smoking a joint and revealing she has a fear of . . . paper.

Miley said the only reason she agreed to marry Maxx is because she hates when “people have dry hands and they touch paper.”

She makes him unbox all of her shopping orders out of her sight.

If I asked my other half to do that, he’d tell me to take a running jump.

ROSALIA FANS THANK THEIR LUXY STARS

IF you’re a fan of Rosalia then make sure you are free on May 5 next year.

The Spanish singer will play London’s O2 Arena on that date as part of her biggest headline tour so far, in support of her latest album Lux.

Currently, it is the only date Rosalia has in the UK next year so when tickets go on sale on Thursday we think they will go quickly.

Alanis Morissette has also announced two big shows in the UK next year.

She will play Blenheim Palace Festival on June 28 before playing a massive open air show at Crystal Palace park on July 4.

And to top it off, Skunk Anansie will appear as special guests at both shows.

GRAB your steins because Backstreet’s back – and this time they’re heading to Germany.

The Backstreet Boys are following in Adele’s footsteps with a mini residency in Düsseldorf.

Into The Millennium – Homecoming: Live In Germany will be the only place to see the boys outside of Sin City in 2026 and will see them playing six shows at Merkur Spiel Arena next September.

SHARON’S CURRY TRIBUTE

THERE’S no better way to celebrate a birthday than with a banging balti.

And that’s what Sharon and Kelly Osbourne did to mark what would’ve been Ozzy’s 77th birthday.

The Black Sabbath legend passed away in July and Sharon, Kelly and her fiance Slipknot’s Sid Wilson popped into Asha’s Indian restaurant in Ozzy’s hometown of Birmingham for a proper ruby.

It’s one of the best curry houses in Brum and has previously hosted Ed Sheeran and Tom Cruise.

Ozzy was a massive fan of curries throughout his life and even made posh Italian restaurant Cipriani in London bring him a chicken madras when he stopped by for a meal one time.

I’ll be raising a poppadom and a pint of Cobra to you next time I visit my local, Ozzy.

FATBOY SLIM will headline Camp Bestival in Dorset next summer. He’ll be hosting the first Fatboy Slim & Friends All Day Castle Stage takeover on August 2 at Lulworth Castle.

Brighton native Fatboy said: “Given there’s a seaside theme at Camp Bestival, I can’t think of anybody more qualified than me to be providing the authentic seaside experience.”

BONO PUTS OFF OASIS

NOEL and Liam Gallagher are currently wading through offers for performances across the world.

But I’m told there is one place Oasis won’t be popping up in the future – and that’s The Sphere in Las Vegas.

I’m told the brothers have been put off the venue by their pal Bono, who had a residency there from September 2023 to March last year.

I was lucky enough to be flown to Vegas to watch the show and it was absolutely incredible – apart from getting motion sickness from the psychedelic visuals.

But according to one of my band moles, Bono warned Noel and Liam, left, about the eye-watering costs of the concerts.

They explained: “Noel has always worshipped U2’s ability to put on amazing shows, from Zooropa to PopMart and the Achtung Baby revival at The Sphere.

“Oasis have the power and money now after their Live ‘25 run to mount a residency at The Sphere.

“Their graphics team is excellent and they have the skills to design an immersive experience for fans at The Sphere, which would feature graphics of the band back in their Manchester days to the present day.

“But when the prospect of appearing at The Sphere was raised Noel said he wasn’t keen. He remembered Bono moaning about the massive cost of mounting a show there.

“He’s always had an eye on the bottom line for him and the band from the cost of their shows. But he’s not going to waste money on a spectacle that will lose him and everyone else cash.”
