According to the NHS, lipoedema is a long-term condition affecting fat and connective tissue.
It causes a build-up in the legs, hips, bottom and sometimes the arms.
It affects both sides of the body equally and is far more common in women than men.
For some, the condition can significantly impact daily life, physical health and emotional wellbeing.
Love Island legend Shaughna Phillips has also previously spoken about her own lipoedema diagnosis.
She chose to undergo multiple surgeries on her legs – but the reality star said her legs would always remain ‘size 14’ despite exercising.
