FOOTIE commentators will have to be on the ball for Wolverhampton Wanderers games — after the club signed a fourth player with the same name.
The Premier League strugglers now have a quartet of stars called Gomes.
England ace Angel Gomes joined on loan from Marseille on transfer deadline day.
The midfielder, 25, joins Brazil’s João Gomes, Portuguese winger Rodrigo Gomes and centre-back Toti Gomes, from Guinea-Bissau.
Unveiling Angel earlier this week, Wolves posted on X: “Room for one more Gomes?”
One fan responded: “How many Gomes does Wolves need lol.”

Meanwhile a rival supporter joked: “All Wolves do is type Gomes in the search bar and buy the first player that pops up.”
Thankfully, defender Toti Gomes usually wears a shirt with his first name on the back.
Having four players with the same surname is thought to be a first for the top flight.
But in March 1960 Crewe Alexandra fielded four players with the surname Jones — Keith, Dick, David and Mervyn — in a Fourth Division game against Cumbrian side Workington.
A match report in the local newspaper had the headline: “Keeping up with the Joneses!”
And the following season Crewe signed a fifth Jones — Peter.
But Wolves have a long way to go to beat Croatian amateur side NK Vrcevo Glavica, which in 2016 had 21 players on the books with the surname Števanja.
