James Van Der Beek, the legendary American actor best known for his role as Dawson Leery in the hit 1990s teen drama ‘Dawson’s Creek’ has passed away.
His wife, Vander James announced his passing via an Instagram post.

According to her Instagram post, the actor passed away on February 11, 2025, with his family stating that he met his final days with courage, faith, and grace.
The actor’s wife has requested privacy as the family grieves his passing.
”Our beloved James David Han passed peacefully this morning. He met his final days with courage faith and grace.There is much to share regarding his wishes, love for humanity and the sacrifices of time.Thoes days will come. For now, we ask for peaceful privacy as we grieve our husband, father , son , brother and friend”, The post reads.
Notably, Van Der Beek a talented American actor was born on March 8, 1977, in Cheshire, Connecticut.
He rose to fame with his iconic role as Dawson Leery in the hit TV series “Dawson’s Creek” (1998-2003).
Additionally, his early life involved acting in local theater productions, and he even landed a role in the off-Broadway play “Finding the Sun” at age 16.
He attended Drew University on an academic scholarship but dropped out to pursue acting.
