A pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre has tragically lost his life after reportedly running into bandits while returning from Makurdi.
The cleric, identified as Abraham Francis Aduh Ojo, was said to be travelling home after attending a church programme when the incident occurred.
Incident Happened After Church Programme
According to information shared by a family member, the pastor had been in Makurdi for a crusade before setting out on his journey back.
The unfortunate event reportedly took place on Thursday, February 12, when he encountered suspected bandits operating along the road.
Attempt to Escape Ends in Tragedy
In a Facebook post announcing the sad news, the pastor’s nephew, Abuh Richard Enemona, explained that his uncle tried to escape after running into the armed men.
He stated that in the process of fleeing, the pastor was involved in a road accident and died instantly.
“My Uncle was coming from Makurdi yesterday after a crusade and he ran into bandits operations and was trying to escape but had an accident and died immediately.
“Until his dead, he’s a pastor serving in Dunamis church, since morning my family and entire community was throw into a heavy tears here.
“Rest well uncle Pastor Abraham Francis Aduh Ojo.”
Family, Church Members React
The sudden death has thrown the pastor’s family and members of his church into mourning.
His nephew noted that the loss has left the entire household and community in sadness
Church members and sympathisers have since taken to social media to express their grief and offer prayers.
