MILLIONS of PlayStation owners could be handed up to £162 in compensation over claims Sony used “excessive pricing”.
A £2billion legal case has been filed against Sony which alleges customers have been charged too much for PlayStation digital games and in-game content.

The case, filed by consumer champion Alex Neill, has been brought to the UK Competition Tribunal.
The tribunal this week agreed to expand the number of people who could be included in the claim.
It means you can be included and potentially receive compensation if you bought digital games or add-on content from the PlayStation Store between August 19, 2016 and February 12, 2026.
If you’re a UK customer, you will automatically be included in the claim and be eligible to receive compensation if the case succeeds.

However, if you’re based outside of the UK you will need to opt in by March 9.
Each person could be owed up to £122 in compensation excluding interest, or £162 with interest, according to estimates by Consumer Voice.
The trial is set to begin on March 2.
Alex Neill said: “This is great news for consumers and will ensure that as many people as possible affected by PlayStation’s actions can be compensated.
“With the trial now only weeks away, and after years of litigation, we are another step closer to securing justice for the 12 million people included in this claim.”
