Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage has officially launched the Tiwa Savage Music Foundation, a new initiative aimed at discovering and grooming the next generation of African music talent.

The singer made the announcement on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, in Lagos, unveiling plans to provide structured, world-class music education for aspiring creatives across the continent.

According to Tiwa, the foundation is not limited to singers or performers in the spotlight but also focuses on the numerous career opportunities that exist behind the scenes in the music industry.

“I wanted to build something that opens people’s eyes to the full scope of what’s possible in music. There are meaningful, sustainable careers in music that don’t always exist in the spotlight,” she said.

The foundation’s first major project is a partnership with the prestigious Berklee College of Music, Tiwa’s alma mater.

Tagged “Berklee in Nigeria: Tiwa Savage Intensive Music Programme,” the four-day training will take place in Lagos from April 23 to 26, 2026.

The tuition-free programme will select 100 participants who will receive hands-on training in live performance, songwriting, music production and the business side of music.

Interested applicants have until March 20, 2026, to apply. While tuition is fully covered, selected candidates will be responsible for their travel and accommodation in Lagos.

Tiwa, who studied at Berklee before rising to global fame, described the initiative as deeply personal.

The intensive programme will end with a live showcase where participants will perform original works, blending global sounds with West African influences.

A closing ceremony will follow, including scholarship presentations.

With this move, Tiwa Savage is not just building her legacy — she is investing in the future of African music.
