Media personality Daddy Freeze has issued a strong warning to married Nigerians over 40 considering relocating abroad for greener pastures.

Speaking on The Honest Bunch Podcast, he advised couples in that age bracket to “avoid any type of abroad” for now, especially destinations like the United States and the United Kingdom.

“One is, the suffering in Nigeria is unbearable or the enjoyment promised abroad is much more than anything you can have here. Avoid America and avoid the UK for now. If you are married, avoid relocating for now,” he said.

Daddy Freeze explained that his advice stems from immigration challenges. Couples may give birth abroad yet face citizenship hurdles due to evolving immigration policies.

He also alleged that some couples take drastic measures to secure residency, including divorcing and remarrying each other or other partners solely for immigration papers.

“What couples now do is to divorce each other and get married to other partners for papers, especially in the UK and US, except one of them is a citizen. How many marriages can survive a divorce and remarriage of the same couple?” he added.

His warning has sparked reactions online, with some agreeing that life abroad isn’t always as easy as it seems, while others argue relocation can still be worthwhile for certain couples.

Daddy Freeze’s advice raises questions about the emotional and legal consequences of chasing residency abroad later in life.
