Popular Nigerian TikToker Peller, whose real name is Habeeb Hamzat, has expressed outrage over the behaviour of some women on TikTok, describing their content as shocking and disrespectful.

Speaking on social media, he referred to explicit videos in which women perform sexually suggestive acts during challenges.

“It’s not even a joke anymore, guys it’s not a joke again o. Who will marry you people? Are you m@d?” Peller asked, highlighting the perceived recklessness of the acts.

Call for self-respect

The social media star urged women to uphold self-respect, insisting that respect is earned through dignity and personal conduct.

“I will only respect women that respect themselves. Any woman doing rubbish on TikTok, wey no get family, if you mumu yourself, I no go respect you,” he said.

Peller suggested that the content posted online could influence societal perceptions, especially in a culture that values family and reputation.

He further stressed that public behaviour on social media platforms should reflect personal values.

Consequences of online actions

Peller also warned that inappropriate online behaviour could attract negative consequences.

He cited examples of women performing explicit acts during TikTok challenges, implying that such content could bring misfortune and diminish opportunities in life.

His comments have sparked debate online about the responsibility of content creators, the influence of social media on youth, and the limits of creative freedom.

Many Nigerians are discussing the balance between self-expression and personal dignity, with Peller’s statements igniting both support and criticism.

The influencer’s remarks reinforce ongoing conversations in Nigeria about online responsibility, ethics, and the role of social media in shaping cultural values.
