Invest more in men than women if you want to be remembered in future — Lady

A Nigerian lady has stirred conversation on social media after sharing a personal story about loyalty, gratitude, and why she prefers investing more in men than women.

The woman, who posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, narrated how a forgotten debt reminded her of a past act of kindness and changed her perspective about trust.

How the Forgotten Debt Resurfaced

According to the lady, she borrowed money from a male friend last year when she was struggling financially.

She explained that she had promised to repay the loan within three months. When the time came, she paid back almost the entire amount.

However, a small balance remained, which she admitted she completely forgot about.

She said the remaining amount slipped her mind because it was very small compared to the original loan.

Despite still chatting occasionally and viewing each other’s WhatsApp status updates, the friend never reminded her about the outstanding balance.

Over time, both of them became busy with their daily activities and gradually stopped communicating regularly.

Unexpected Reminder While Referring a Job

The lady said the issue came back to her memory recently when she saw a business opportunity she believed the friend could handle better.

She decided to message him so she could refer the job to him.

However, instead of opening their usual chat, she mistakenly opened his business WhatsApp account.

That was when she saw the last message between them, which was the receipt of the payment she had previously sent.

According to her, the receipt instantly reminded her that she still owed him a small balance.

She Sends the Money With Extra

Realising her mistake, she quickly copied his bank account details and transferred the remaining amount immediately.

She said she added extra money as a sign of appreciation and apology for the delay.

After sending the payment, she messaged him to apologise for forgetting the balance.

To her surprise, the man responded with excitement and gratitude.

Friend Reveals Why He Never Asked

The man reportedly told her that he had also forgotten about the balance.

He explained that years earlier, when he urgently needed money to support his business, she was the only person who helped him.

According to him, she lent him money during that difficult period when no one else came forward.

Because of that past help, he said he had already decided to ignore the remaining balance and planned to tell her to forget about it.

Her Conclusion Sparks Debate

After sharing the experience, the lady concluded her post by saying the incident strengthened her belief in investing more in men.

She wrote, “Not to devalue my gender but I chose to invest more in men than women.”

Her comment has since sparked mixed reactions online, with many users debating whether loyalty and gratitude should be linked to gender.
