Peter Obi can only operate in an air-conditioned kitchen — Dino Melaye blasts Obi over move to NDC

A former senator, Dino Melaye, has criticised the political moves of Peter Obi, questioning his ability to handle national leadership amid party challenges.

Melaye made the remarks while reacting to Obi’s shift in political alignment, accusing the former presidential candidate of avoiding difficult internal party processes.

Melaye Questions Obi’s Political Strength

In a strongly worded statement, Melaye alleged that Obi lacks the resilience required to navigate Nigeria’s complex political terrain.

He argued that leadership demands the ability to endure internal crises and pressure.

“Peter Obi excused himself from tough situation. If he can not face party tribulations and crisis, how does he intend to handle Nigeria?

Because Nigeria wahala pass ADC problems oooo. He can only operate in an air-conditioned kitchen. Hot kitchens are not for him,” Melaye said.

Claims Over Obi’s Political Path

The former lawmaker further claimed that Obi has consistently avoided competitive primaries throughout his political career. According to him, Obi benefited from direct tickets in previous political engagements.

“He has never gone through primary, APGA gave him free Governorship ticket, Atiku gave him free VP ticket, Labour gave free Presidential ticket,” he stated.

Melaye also suggested that Obi’s departure from previous parties was linked to his alleged reluctance to participate in primary elections.

“He can not be part of Primary election, reason why he left PDP, reason why he left ADC for another free ticket in NDC,” he added.

Allegations Against NDC

In a controversial claim, Melaye described the NDC as being aligned with the ruling party, raising concerns about its independence.

“NDC is an agency of APC,” he alleged.
