You want 10 years experience for ₦200k? – Tech lady blasts Moniepoint CEO

A Nigerian tech lady has berated the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Moniepoint, Tosin Eniolorunda, over his recent comments about the shortage of skilled professionals in Nigeria.

The video, shared on X (formerly Twitter) by @ChuksEricE, captured the young woman criticizing what she described as poor pay structures among Nigerian employers.

Tech Lady Questions Salary Expectations

In the viral clip, the lady argued that many Nigerian companies expect highly skilled workers while offering salaries that do not match the level of experience required.

“I have to say the owner of Moniepoint is stating BS. Big BS. You know why? There is a problem with the Nigerian employer in the Nigerian system. You don’t want to pay. You want skillful workers and you don’t want to pay,” she said.

Personal Work Experience

The lady went on to share her personal career journey, revealing that she secured her first corporate opportunity with only an SSCE certificate because her employer focused more on competence than academic qualifications.

“The first time I got an opportunity to work in this life by somebody in a corporate body I was just with my SSCE secondary school certificate and I worked with BSc holders,” she said.

According to her, the employer gave her a chance because he believed in her ability to deliver results rather than relying solely on certificates.

Criticizes Nigerian Employers

She further accused many employers of undervaluing experienced workers despite demanding years of expertise.

“You want that lady or that guy with five to ten years experience? You want to pay me N200,000? Are you okay?” she asked.

The woman also criticized low wages paid to workers in Nigeria, including security guards and domestic staff, despite the rising cost of living.

“Nigerian minimum wage is N70,000. Some of you are still paying your gate men N30,000 and you are coming to say you are looking for skilled people and you are not seeing them,” she added.

“Owner of Moniepoint’s statement is biased. There’s a major problem with employers in the Nigerian system, they don’t want to pay well, yet they expect highly skilled workers. I have over 15 years of work experience, and I can confidently say Nigerian employers are not… pic.twitter.com/LFcy5gI0Kp
