We Were Liars Season Two Casts Six New Series Regulars

AdminBy AdminMay 8, 2026No Comments3 Mins Read

A new cast of characters is joining the We Were Liars universe for the Prime Video’s series second season.

Josh Dallas, Costa D’Angelo, Parker Lapaine, Peyton List, Elysia Roorbach and Madison Wolfe have been cast as series regulars for the show’s second season.

The series, which wasrenewed for a second seasonlast year, will follow E. Lockhart’s 2022 prequel novel,Family of Liarsas well as feature new stories about the current cast of characters, the author teased.

“The prequel novel is a flashback to when the mom characters are teenagers. So you will see a whole story about that, but you will still see Cadence, you will still see Johnny, and you will still see all those sisters as adults. The showrunners are cooking up new stories for them,” E. Lockhart toldThe Hollywood Reporter.

Dallas will portray a young Harris, following David Morse who starred as Harris Sinclair in season one. Tell Me Lies star D’Angelo will star as Pfeff, a “New England college kid with a mysterious edge.” Parker will portray a young Carrie, a role first played by Mamie Gummer in season one; List will play a young Tipper, originally portrayed by Wendy Crewson; Roorbach will take on the role of a young Penny, first played by Caitlin FitzGerald; and Wolfe will portray a young Bess, originally played by Candice King.

Season two will see Emily Alyn Lind return as Cadence.

“In an effort to confront her truth, Cadence returns to Beechwood. As she digs deeper into family secrets, she learns about the Sinclair Sisters’ summer of 1999 — a summer rife with first love, rivalry, and even murder. In flashbacks, we see Carrie, Penny, and Bess navigate their own teenage summer, as they come to terms with their past in the present day,” the season two logline reads.

E. Lockhart’sWe Were Liarsbook was released in 2014 and became a best-seller. The novel centered on the affluent Sinclair family who spend every summer on Beechwood, a wealthy fictional island off of Martha’s Vineyard. The first season of thePrime Videoseries adaptation from Julie Plec and Carina Adly MacKenzie starred Lind, Esther McGregor, Shubham Maheshwari and Joseph Zada.

Season two is written and executive produced by co-showrunners Plec and MacKenzie. Also executive producing are Emily Cummins for My So-Called Company, Brett Matthews, Marguerite MacIntyre and E. Lockhart.

Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, and Amazon MGM Studios are behind the project. The novel is published by Delacorte Press, an imprint of Random House Children’s Books.
