Kwara courtroom convicts 33 for indiscriminate dumping of refuse, others

Thirty-three environmental offenders have been convicted by a cellular courtroom arrange by the Kwara State Authorities.

Our correspondent learnt that 21 of the offenders have been convicted on Wednesday whereas 12 others have been sentenced on Thursday.

Press Secretary within the state Ministry of Atmosphere, Yakub Aliagan, confirmed the conviction in an announcement on Thursday.

He mentioned, “21 offenders have been convicted on Wednesday whereas one other 12 offenders who have been arrested by environmental officers working in Ilorin Metropolis on Wednesday have been tried and convicted by the Particular Cellular Courtroom on Thursday.”

The convicts paid between N2,000 and N10,000 superb to the federal government after conviction based on a director of setting, Mrs Mary Mustapha.

The spokesman for the Nigeria Safety and Civil Protection Corps within the state, Ayoola Shola, confirmed that these arrested throughout the enforcement have been dropped at the corps’ facility earlier than being conveyed to the Ministry of Atmosphere the place the cellular courtroom was sitting.
