Scholarship recipient Jessica Marks offers again as ASPSF volunteer

Arkansas Single Mother or father Scholarship Fund Ozark Central Area is honored to acknowledge Jessica Marks because the Volunteer of the Month for June 2022.

Jessica started her journey with Arkansas Single Mother or father Scholarship Fund in 2017 as a scholarship recipient. Immediately, she helps different single mother and father obtain their instructional and profession objectives as a key volunteer by coordinating scholar interviews and award packages.

She additionally offers program help by contacting and serving to single mother and father all through the Ozark Central Area, which incorporates Cleburne, Fulton, Independence, Izard, Jackson, Sharp, Stone, and Woodruff counties.

“After I obtained this scholarship, I didn’t know if I used to be going to make it,” she stated. “I used to be so blessed once I received the information, so I perceive the challenges a single guardian faces, and I’m so blissful to be part of this group.”

Jessica graduated from Western Governors College with a bachelor’s and grasp’s levels in training. Since 2018, she has taught useful resource English at Southside Constitution Faculty in Batesville.  Jessica loves working with youngsters — “particularly those that want additional love, care, and steerage.”

Beforehand, she labored at Southside Tracks Program, Southside Preschool, The Group Faculty Inc., and Batesville Faculty District. She has one son, Eli, who’s within the ninth grade, and bought her first residence in August 2021.

Along with volunteering at ASPSF, Jessica is an energetic member of her church, Weapons of a Warrior Ministries Inc. in Batesville.  Her hobbies embrace crafting, procuring at Goodwill, baking, and studying.  Her favourite issues are avocados, earrings, Charlie Brown, and the seaside.

“I hope to make a constructive influence on my college students’ lives that they’ll carry with them past the classroom,” she stated. “Volunteering with ASPSF is one other approach I could make a distinction.”
