When Jimmy Carter ran for president, he was barely identified outdoors of his residence state. Throughout his time as president, Carter invited many of those musicians to the White Home. His first visitor was Gregg Allman, although the singer was dealing with a cocaine possession cost on the time. He hosted the primary White Home Jazz Pageant on the grounds in June 1978. Carter’s son James “Chip” Carter smoked weed with Nelson on the White Home roof.
“There have been some individuals who did not like my being deeply concerned with Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan and ‘disreputables’ — you realize, rock and rollers,” Carter mentioned. “However I did not care about that as a result of I used to be doing what I actually believed.”
