A Nigerian-born journalist, Mr Richard Edoki, has been shortlisted within the Finest Newcomer Class of the 2025 Nationwide Hospital Radio Awards in the UK.
Edoki, also called Richybongo, made this recognized in an announcement he issued on Saturday.
He stated that the awards had been organised yearly by the Hospital Broadcasting Affiliation (HBA), a United Kingdom-based broadcast station.
He stated that the awards honoured distinctive contributions to hospital broadcasting throughout the UK.
In line with him, he hosts “African Vibe with Richybongo” on the Group Hospital Broadcasting Community (CHBN) in Cornwall, England.
“The present, aired each Sunday night, celebrates the wealthy cultural and worldview range of African individuals whereas fostering inclusivity with Cornish audiences.
“By way of music, meals, costume sense and language, Richybongo creates a platform that bridges cultures and builds a shared sense of neighborhood, “ he stated.
He stated that “African Vibe with Richybongo” on CHBN Radio had introduced the colourful cultures of Africa to Cornish airwaves, fostering shared studying and a way of belonging for all listeners.
“By exploring African traditions, we’ve got launched the richness of our heritage to Cornish audiences, whereas making a ‘dwelling away from dwelling’ for Africans in Cornwall.
“It’s fulfilling to see how the present has grow to be a bridge between cultures, serving to everybody to understand the variety that makes our world so particular.
“The Nationwide Hospital Radio Awards ceremony will happen on April 5, 2025,” he added.
