Trumps intervention may require dismantling Tinubus govt – Ex-U.S. mayor warns

AdminBy AdminNovember 7, 2025Updated:November 7, 2025No Comments2 Mins Read

Former United States Mayor, Mike Arnold, has issued a scathing criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, warning that international action may become necessary if Nigeria’s government continues to fail in protecting Christians from ongoing killings.

Arnold made the statement through a series of posts on his verified X (formerly Twitter) account, @MikeArnoldTruth, where he accused the Nigerian government of being complicit in the nation’s growing insecurity.

He claimed the government is “not merely failing to stop terrorism but built to accommodate it.”

Arnold Accuses Government of Complicity

“The Nigerian government and their media puppets are in full panic mode — scrambling to stop international scrutiny, terrified of real intervention,” Arnold wrote. “But they’re not offering solutions. Just lies. Deflection. Empty outrage.”

He alleged that Nigeria’s political elite view terrorists as allies rather than enemies of the state. “Where the world sees terrorists, Nigeria’s ruling class sees constituents, voting blocs, coalition partners, bosses, and money,” he added.

‘Extremists Are Protected, Not Punished’

According to Arnold, extremists who kill in the name of religion or ethnicity are being shielded rather than punished. “They don’t fight extremists — they welcome them, protect them, bow to them,” he stated.

He warned that the government’s perceived indifference to violence has deepened the crisis, stressing that true peace may only come when the system that supports such beliefs is dismantled.

“Until we dismantle the belief that some lives are disposable, the blood will not stop,” he said.

Mixed Reactions Trail Arnold’s Remarks

Arnold concluded that no society can survive while allowing ideologies that justify the killing of innocents. “No society that permits this ideology to flourish will last. And no system that protects it deserves to,” he added.

His remarks have triggered mixed reactions online, with #EarthShaker trending as Nigerians debated his views. While some described his comments as a “wake-up call” to the government, others criticised them as foreign interference.

Arnold’s statements come amid renewed attacks on Christian communities in Nigeria’s Middle Belt, where rights groups have accused authorities of silence and inaction.

His criticism reflects growing Western frustration over Nigeria’s handling of religiously motivated violence.
