Barcelona restored operational control at the top of La Liga after executing a disciplined comeback to secure their fourth consecutive league victory, dispatching Alaves 3-1 at the Spotify Camp Nou.
Hansi Flick’s side who fell to Chelsea during the week, faced an early setback after Frenkie de Jong was ruled out pre-match, forcing Marc Bernal into his first start in over a year.
The adjustment backfired almost immediately. Alaves struck within 44 seconds, with Pablo Ibanez reacting quickest to a loose ball following a corner to put the visitors ahead.
Yamal sparks immediate response
Barcelona stabilised their tempo and reset quickly. Lamine Yamal delivered the equaliser on eight minutes, capitalising on Raphinha’s drive to the by-line and a Lewandowski deflection to power home his first goal at the Camp Nou.
The game changed further in Barcelona’s favour in the 26th minute.
After Garcia prevented Alaves from retaking the lead with a sharp save, Raphinha again engineered the breakthrough, teeing up Dani Olmo to finish emphatically for his first club goal since September.
Alaves nearly levelled before the interval, but Lucas Boye failed to convert from close range, leaving head coach Eduardo Coudet visibly exasperated.

Barcelona consolidate in second half
Barcelona maintained operational pressure after the break.
Lewandowski forced a strong save from Antonio Sivera, while Olmo dragged another chance wide after a smart delivery from Jules Kounde.
The Spain international, however, closed out the contest in stoppage time, securing his brace and removing any late uncertainty around the outcome.
Back on top – for now
The victory moves Barcelona two points clear of Real Madrid in the provisional standings.
Xabi Alonso’s men can reclaim top spot with a win away to Girona on Sunday, but for the moment, Barcelona have restored strategic advantage in the title race.
