Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has taken a decisive step as the Adeleke PDP resignation issue continues to shape political conversations across the country.
The Adeleke PDP resignation announcement has added new tension to the already troubled opposition party.
Governor Exits PDP Over Leadership Crisis
The Adeleke PDP resignation became official after the governor submitted his letter on 4 November 2025 to party leaders in Sagba Abogunde, Ward 2, Ede North Local Government Area.
He said the worsening national leadership crisis made his continued stay impossible.
Adeleke explained that the prolonged internal conflict within the party had weakened its stability.
According to him, the crisis had reached a point where membership no longer aligned with his principles.

Thanks Supporters for Political Journey
The Adeleke PDP resignation letter also carried words of appreciation to supporters who backed him from his time in the Senate to his current position as governor.
He described the PDP as a platform that supported key stages of his political career.
He wrote: “Due to the current crisis within the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (@OfficialPDPNig) at the national level, on the 4th of November, 2025, I officially conveyed my resignation letter as a member to the leadership of the party in Sagba Abogunde, Ward 2, Ede North local government.
“I thanked the party and its numerous members and supporters for the opportunities given to me to use the platform for my elections as first a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and now as Governor of Osun State.”

The Adeleke PDP resignation is expected to trigger further developments as the party battles deeper internal fractures.
