A lot of Nigerian men in UK are suffering because of their wives – UK-based lady warns

AdminBy AdminDecember 3, 2025Updated:December 3, 2025No Comments2 Mins Read

A UK-based Nigerian woman has sparked conversation online after claiming that many Nigerian men living in the United Kingdom are suffering serious health issues because of the financial pressure placed on them by their wives.

In a video shared on social media, the woman alleged that many couples earn similar salaries, sometimes with the wife earning even more, but the burden of running the home is still left entirely on the husband.

Lady bemoans uneven responsibilities

She claimed that many women use their income for personal projects or to support relatives back home, while their husbands bear the full financial weight of the household.

Consequence of prolonged stress

The woman, who works in a hospital, further revealed that a significant number of Black men she encounters at work are suffering from stress-related illnesses, including stroke.

Her words …

“For this UK, responsibility don kpai so many responsible men. How two people wey dey earn the same salary, if not at all, the woman dey earn higher, you no go bring money come, you go use your own money dey do wetin you like. You go dey push your husband, dey tell am say him be man of the house. Your wife dey work dey send to her family, you dey use all your money dey carter for the family dey answer man of the house.

The one wey dey pain me be say the hospital I dey work, na blacks full there. Many of them get stroke. Even at age 45, which is not meant to be. Wetin dey cause am? Na tress. When them don carry load wey pass you give you, you sef come carry am as man of the house.”
