The final season of Outlander is quickly approaching, but before that, Starz has dropped a bonus teaser for the upcoming eighth installment.
Released as part of the “12 Days of Outlander” series for fans, the teaser depicts a distraught Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) as he warns that “nothing can prepare you for how it ends.”
The official logline for season eight reads, “Jamie and Claire soon find the war has followed them home to Fraser’s Ridge, now a thriving settlement that has grown and flourished in their absence. With new arrivals and changes made during their years away, the Frasers are confronted with the question of what they are willing to sacrifice for the place they call home and, more importantly, what they would sacrifice to stay together. While the Frasers keep a united front against outside intruders, family secrets finally coming to light threaten to tear them apart from the inside. Although they’ve left the war for America’s freedom behind, their fight for Fraser’s Ridge has only just begun.”
Alongside Heughan, Caitríona Balfe stars as Claire, while Sophie Skelton, Richard Rankin, John Bell, David Berry, Charles Vandervaart and Izzy Meikle-Small round out the cast.
Season eight of Outlander is set to premiere March 6 on Starz, as new episodes drop weekly Fridays. Although the main series is about to come to an end, the franchise itself expanded earlier this year with the prequel show Blood of My Blood (which has been renewed for a second season).
Matthew B. Roberts serves as showrunner. He also executive produces alongside Ronald D. Moore, Maril Davis, Toni Graphia, Luke Schelhaas, Andy Harries, Jim Kohlberg, Balfe and Heughan, while the series is produced by Sony Pictures Television.
