Bayern Munich open talks to extend Kane contract

Bayern Munich Opens Contract Talks with Harry Kane
Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl has confirmed that the club has entered negotiations with star striker Harry Kane regarding a contract extension.
Speaking at a Bundesliga event in Frankfurt, Eberl noted that while discussions are ongoing, “everyone knows at some point a decision has to be made.”
A Record-Breaking Tenure
Since his €100m (£86.4m) arrival from Tottenham in August 2023, the 32-year-old England captain has been nothing short of prolific. His impact in Bavaria includes:
- Elite Production: 119 goals and 30 assists in just 126 appearances.
- Silverware: Played a pivotal role in securing the 2024-25 Bundesliga title, the first major trophy of his professional career.
- Current Momentum: Under manager Vincent Kompany, Kane has already netted 34 goals in 30 games this season.
Chasing History
Kane is currently on a quest to surpass Robert Lewandowski’s single-season Bundesliga record of 41 goals. - With 21 goals in 19 league matches so far, he remains well within striking distance of the milestone. Additionally, his form has secured Bayern’s strong standing in the Champions League group phase as they look toward the knockout rounds.
Future in Munich - While a return to the Premier League is often a topic of speculation, Kane suggested in October that his interest in moving back to England has diminished. He expressed that he “could definitely” see himself remaining with the German giants long-term, a sentiment that aligns with the club’s current push to extend his stay.
