Fab Four Stars Announced for Major Beatles Films
Paul Mescal, Barry Keoghan Cast in Star-Studded Beatles Biopic Series
Paul Mescal and Barry Keoghan have officially joined the all-star lineup portraying The Beatles in four major upcoming films directed by Oscar-winner Sir Sam Mendes.
Mescal, known for Normal People and Gladiator II, will play Paul McCartney, while Saltburn star Keoghan takes on the role of Ringo Starr. Harris Dickinson (Triangle of Sadness, The King’s Man) has been cast as John Lennon, and Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things, The Fantastic Four) will portray George Harrison.
The films, set for release in April 2028, mark the first time The Beatles and their estates have granted full life story and music rights for a scripted project. Each installment will focus on a single band member’s perspective, offering an intimate look at their journey while interweaving to tell the story of the world’s most influential band.
Sir Sam Mendes, who announced the project at CinemaCon alongside the cast, described it as a groundbreaking cinematic experience: “The story of The Beatles is too vast for just one movie. These four films will allow audiences to understand them more deeply while capturing the magic of their collective legacy.”
The actors celebrated the announcement by reciting lyrics from Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and delivering a synchronized Beatles-style bow.
Despite disbanding in 1970, The Beatles remain the best-selling band in history. This biopic series aims to capture their revolutionary impact on music and culture like never before.
