Abandoned Baby Found Crying by Riverside in Kogi
An abandoned baby girl has been rescued after being found crying near the Niger Bridge in the Ajaokuta area of Kogi State.
The discovery was made on April 4, 2025, when a concerned community leader, who heard the baby’s cries, found her near the riverside.
Along with the baby, several items were discovered at the scene, including baby clothes, a wrapper, and other belongings.
The community leader promptly alerted local authorities and assured that the baby would be cared for by the community until the mother is identified.
The authorities are expected to take over the investigation to ensure the child’s safety and welfare.
