Ebonyi Govt Official Abducted
Police in Ebonyi State have confirmed the abduction of Blessing Adagba, Coordinator of the Ngbo Central Development Centre in Ohaukwu Local Government Area.
The incident occurred around midnight on Thursday in the Okposhi Eheku community, sparking fear and outrage among residents.
According to reports, a group of armed men disguised as soldiers stormed Adagba’s residence, demanding entry.
Despite her refusal and suspicion over the unusual timing of their visit, the attackers forced their way in, overpowered her, and took her to an unknown location.
Police spokesperson SP Joshua Ukandu stated that the command’s Anti-Kidnapping Squad has been deployed and is working around the clock to rescue the victim.
Local residents and security forces are also coordinating efforts to locate and secure her safe return.
The incident has drawn concern from community leaders, who are calling for increased security presence in the area.
Stakeholders say the abduction highlights a troubling rise in kidnapping cases and are urging state and federal authorities to take swift action to restore peace and public confidence.
