COPS have launched an urgent probe after a woman in her 30s was sexually assaulted in a park.
Officers were called to Forest Recreation Ground in Nottingham, at 7.56pm last night by a member of the public who found the woman in distress.
A police cordon has been established on a section of footpath at the site in Gregory Boulevard.
Cops are now appealing for witnesses and have asked anyone with information to come forward “as soon as possible”.
The force said the victim was being supported by specially trained officers as they continue to locate the person responsible.
Detective Chief Inspector Rob Routledge, of Nottinghamshire Police’s Public Protection unit, said: “We know these types of incidents are very concerning for the public and I would like to reassure people that we are doing everything we can to investigate this report.
“Alongside these inquiries, our uniformed colleagues in the neighbourhood team have increased reassurance patrols in the area.
“If anyone has any concerns, we’d encourage them to approach one of our officers.
“Specially trained officers are supporting the victim as our enquiries continue and every effort is being made to locate the person responsible.”
DCI Routledge added: “I would urge anyone who saw anything suspicious or has any information that could help the investigation to come forward as soon as possible and call us on 101, quoting incident number 617 of 19 January 2026.
“Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
