Founder of Port Harcourt-based Salvation Ministries, Pastor David Ibiyeomie, has continued to weigh in on the growing insecurity in Nigeria, questioning how kidnappers continue to operate despite the capabilities of security agencies.

Speaking during a recent church sermon, the cleric suggested that those behind the abduction of schoolchildren and other victims may not be acting alone, alleging that powerful individuals could be sponsoring the crimes.

“They are not just picking these children without sponsors. Politicians must be behind it,” he said.

Ibiyeomie also questioned why security agencies have not been able to track and apprehend those responsible, despite their ability to trace individuals through technology and phone communications.

According to him, the continued success of kidnappers points to the possibility of hidden forces aiding their operations.

“The DSS can track people, so how come they are not tracking these kidnappers? There must be an invisible hand behind it. If the DSS can trace someone through a phone call, how come no one has been caught?” he added.

His remarks come amid growing concerns over the recent wave of kidnappings and attacks across different parts of the country, including the abduction of students and teachers.

The comments have since sparked reactions online, with many Nigerians debating the role of security agencies and political actors in tackling the country’s insecurity challenges.
