Despite the reported no-phones policy at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Friday wedding, details of the “intimate” Madison Square Garden ceremony are starting to emerge from those who were inside the exclusive event.
While Swift and Kelce have remained silent so far about the proceedings, AMC Theaters CEO Adam Aron, Maren Morris and Good Morning America hosts Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos and Michael Strahan were among those who shared their accounts of what happened in the arena.
Aron tweeted and then deleted a detailed account of the ceremony, writing in part, “everything… floors, walls, ceilings… was draped in peach and white. Large blown up pictures of Taylor and Travis at each age, year by year from one year-old to late teenager-hood, were on display.”
He added, “A small portion of MSG was cordoned off, devoid of any notion that that a basketball or hockey game ever shared that space. Somehow magically, someone created an outdoor garden at a lush countryside retreat. Everything draped off this time in green and white. Real flowers and I think artificial trees welcomed fifteen rows of maybe 75 or so chairs. They say there were around one thousand attendees, but surprisingly, it all felt intimate and small. Everything was close.”
On Saturday’s GMA, Stephanopoulos, Roberts and Strahan, back on set for the morning show after the ceremony, revealed what they observed, sharing that Swift and Kelce wrote their own vows, which they read out of “little books.”
Stephanopoulos said the ceremony was “as intimate as it could possibly be, given it was Madison Square Garden,” with a “garden inside the Garden. It was just so beautiful, and it’s hard to imagine that a place that big and a wedding with such stars could feel so personal and so intimate.”
In a statement to ABC News, Stephanopoulos said the vows were “Everything you would hope for: real, vulnerable, serious, and silly.”
Roberts confirmed that Stevie Nicks did perform as had been reported prior to the event, adding the top-secret proceedings felt both “really intimate” and like “any wedding that you would attend,” with neighbors and high school friends.
“It was their dream wedding, and it really was amazing,” Strahan added. “Congratulations to both of them.”
Elsewhere, Morris shared a photo to Instagram of a handkerchief reportedly given to attendees, in case they started crying at the nuptials. The handkerchiefs were embroidered with lace, Swift and Kelce’s initials, the date and location of the wedding (July 3, 2026 and New York City) and the “Blank Space” lyric, “So it’s gonna be forever…” Kelce previously identified “Blank Space” one of his favorite Swift songs.
British digital radio station LBC News also caught Swift’s aunt, Robin Gentry, on her way out of Madison Square Garden on Friday night as she shared this insight on the ceremony: “They cried, and they laughed, and they danced, and they hugged, and they kissed.”
Stephanopoulos said Sandler was “funny and touching,” but not only did he officiate the ceremony, he also performed an original song that was “humorous and touching and was all about their love,” sources told TMZ.
TMZ also reported that Jason Kelce’s daughters were flower girls who threw petals around Swift as she walked down the aisle to one of her own songs, being played on strings.
The reception decor, TMZ’s source says, was Alice in Wonderland meets The Wizard of Oz, with People‘s source adding that it “looked like a forest” with ferns and trees and the arena seats covered in white.
People added that in addition to Nicks, Paul McCartney, as reported, performed, delivering a rendition of The Beatles’ “I Want to Hold Your Hand.”
People‘s source also shared that it took Swift and Travis Kelce roughly 20 minutes to read their vows from gold books.
TMZ reported food at the reception came from Zero Bond while People said there was also Italian cuisine and “bars everywhere,” a source said.
Reporters stationed outside of the Garden also caught a glimpse of some of the decor being unloaded on Saturday morning, revealing that the color palette included cream, dusty rose and sage green. There were also carnival and arcade games spotted and a classic car with a “JUST&TMRD” license plate.
