Liverpool have joined the race for the Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi.

The 28-year-old will be a free agent in the summer, and he has been linked with multiple clubs in recent weeks, according to a report from Marca.

Senesi is also a target for Tottenham.

Marcos Senesi would be ideal for Liverpool

Liverpool could use more depth in the defensive unit, and the South American would be ideal for them on a free transfer. He has the quality and experience to compete in the Premier League, and he has shown that with Bournemouth.

Liverpool could lose Ibrahima Konaté at the end of the season, and the 28-year-old central defender could be his replacement. Konate will be out of contract in the coming weeks, and he has not yet signed an extension with the Premier League club. It is normal for Liverpool to look at potential alternatives, and signing the 28-year-old Premier League defender for free could be a masterstroke.

Senesi would be a bargain addition

Meanwhile, signing an experienced player like him for free would allow Liverpool to invest their money elsewhere in the squad. They will need to bring in multiple players during the summer transfer window.

It will be interesting to see if Liverpool can convince the defender to join. Senesi has played under Arne Slot at Feyenoord, and he might be open to a reunion. Richard Hughes also knows the player well from his time with the Cherries.

Furthermore, the opportunity to play for one of the country’s biggest clubs will be exciting for the South American. Liverpool won the league title last season, and they will be expected to fight for major trophies next season. The defender could be excited about the possibility of joining them.

Spurs are pushing to sign Senesi, and Liverpool must act quickly to get the deal done.
