A Nigerian lady has sparked reactions online after revealing that a man she met on TikTok just two weeks ago surprised her with a car and expressed his intention to marry her.
According to the lady, they met on TikTok and had been talking for only a short period before meeting in person.
During one of their conversations, the man asked why she did not own a car, but she brushed off the question with a joke.
In her words, she said:
“He asked why I didn’t have a car, and I joked that if someone gave me one, I would gladly collect it. I thought we were both joking.”
She explained that a few days later, the man asked what kind of car she wanted before requesting her home address, saying he wanted to send her something.
Expecting a small gift like doughnuts or ice cream, she was stunned when a delivery arrived with a car registered in her name.
“I called him to return the car because we had just met. Then he told me he wasn’t trying to date me, he wanted to marry me. He said even if it takes forever for him to know me, he would still marry me,” she added.
The unexpected gesture divided her family. While one of her friends encouraged her to keep the car, her mother and siblings advised her to return it because they barely knew the man.
Her story has since sparked mixed reactions online, with many Nigerians warning her to be cautious, while others described the gesture as romantic and urged her to take time before making any decision.
