Royal Editor: Prince Harry Reportedly Unhappy with Meghan Using Kids to Boost Brand

Prince Harry is reportedly uneasy with Meghan Markle’s decision to involve their children in the promotion of her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard.
According to royal editor Matt Wilkinson, tension has emerged between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex over how much of their children’s lives—Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet—should be visible to the public.
Speaking on the A Right Royal Podcast, Wilkinson said Harry remains strongly protective of their privacy, particularly concerned about the children being exposed to media scrutiny when outside their Montecito home.
“He’s got this idea that if he takes them outside of Montecito, there is a hoard of us out there trying to take photos of his kids,” Wilkinson explained.
By contrast, Meghan reportedly embraces a more open and curated approach to motherhood, influenced by her California upbringing.
While she’s careful not to show her children’s faces, Meghan has increasingly featured their presence in branded content—sharing glimpses of her family life to help frame her image as a modern, hands-on mother.
Recent promotional material for her new brand included a Valentine’s Day video of Archie and Lilibet making desserts, a photo of Harry and their daughter on a boat, and a garden snapshot of the children alongside product teasers.
These subtle yet strategic inclusions are said to be a point of concern for Harry, who fears overexposing their young children and attracting unwanted attention.
Wilkinson believes Harry is “not overly happy” with this direction, as it appears to go against the couple’s previously firm stance on protecting their children’s privacy.
Notably, while Meghan has used family-themed imagery to promote her brand, the children were absent from her recent Netflix cooking show With Love, Meghan—though Harry did appear briefly in a supportive role.
So far, neither Harry nor Meghan’s representatives have commented publicly on the reported disagreement.
