A Nigerian woman has Nigerians talking online after admitting money played a major role in her decision to leave her marriage.
In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by @Mazi_Chinonso1, she revealed that she was married ten years ago but is now divorced.
According to her, she is currently single and searching for a wealthy man to settle with.
In her words, she said:
“If my ex-husband was rich like Dangote, I wouldn’t have left. Financial stability is very important to me when choosing a partner.
I hate poor men. I can only marry a rich man, and I don’t need to be rich myself to attract a rich man, because I am a woman.”
The lady went further, explaining that her personal wealth is not necessary to attract a rich man, because being a woman already gives her an advantage in relationships.
She added that she wants a partner who can provide financial security for her and her future family.
Her statement has sparked debates on social media, with people sharing different opinions about love, money, and relationships.
While some agreed, saying financial security is crucial in a successful marriage. Others criticised her, arguing that love should matter more than money.
One user wrote, “Life happens, fortunes change. What will you do if the ‘rich man’ loses everything?” Another commented, “At least she’s honest. Many people think the same way but won’t say it.”
