Tosin Eniolorunda (born Oluwatosin Michael Eniolorunda in September 1985) is a Nigerian software engineer and entrepreneur who co-founded and currently leads the Nigerian fintech bank Moniepoint Inc. He began his career as a software engineer at Interswitch before launching TeamApt in 2015.
Tosin Eniolorunda Biography
Eniolorunda was born in Lagos, Nigeria, to engineering contractor Rotimi and teacher Ajoke Eniolorunda. He is from Ose local government, Ondo State, but grew up in Ibadan, Oyo State. He’s the first of three children.
Eniolorunda attended the University of Ibadan Staff School from 1990 to 1995, and then the Command Day School in Odogbo, Ibadan, where he completed his secondary education from 1995 to 2001. He was a member of the Junior Engineers, Technicians, and Scientists Club there.
He was admitted to Obafemi Awolowo University in 2002 and earned a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering in 2007.
Career
Eniolorunda started working as a software engineer at Interswitch back in 2009. He held many positions at Interswitch, including senior software manager, unit head of application development, and product manager.
In 2015, Eniolorunda departed Interswitch to co-found TeamApt with Felix Ike, which eventually rebranded as Moniepoint Inc, a financial technology startup that offers business payments and banking solutions. He first bootstrapped the company with his personal assets.
Recognition
On June 25, 2021, Endeavour named Eniolorunda and his Moniepoint co-founder, Felix Ike, as Endeavour Entrepreneurs. Eniolorunda also appears on the cover of Forbes Africa magazine’s August-September 2021 issue.
In 2022, New African magazine named him one of the top 100 most influential Africans.
